BYUI Round 2
Well it's Sunday and I'm in Idaho, so I guess that means its time for another blog post! I got to Rexburg a little over a week ago, and I'll be here until the end of July (and for those wondering, BYUI has a weird track system rather than typical semesters so that is why I'm here at such a random time).
Spring track is the smallest of the 3 tracks, so there are only 4 girls in my apartment, which is designed for 6, so that makes things really nice. Here are some pictures of my room! I'm in love with it!
The Sunday before school started was our first Sunday at church, and guess what? I got a calling that day, so I am now a Gospel Doctrine teacher. *insert terrified screaming here*
Our First Sunday as Roomies! |
Anyways, the first week of school was great! I'm already swamped with homework but I think I've got a pretty good schedule down so that I can get everything done that I need to. I have had so much motivation since I've been out here, whether it be school work, cleaning, or just going out with friends, I've managed to fit it all in. However, I will say that I forgot what it felt like to be exhausted at the end of the day, but I have kindly been reminded. I've been praying every night that I can continue to feel motivated through the semester, instead of just the first two weeks like usual. I think its actually helping that I'm really busy though, because it doesn't give me time to over-think, and when I over-think, I get in a funk. So for now, busy is good.
Headed to my First Day of Classes |
Alright enough with the school stuff. This week I have gone to a place called The Craze (twice). Its so fun; they have lazer tag, mini golf, an arcade, pool tables, and so much more. I also went to a place called Sammy's, and they are famous for their shakes. Well just my luck, when I went, their shake machine was broken so I just got an Italian soda instead. It was still good, so I was satisfied! Tomorrow my ward is going to I-jump, an indoor trampoline park, and I can't wait!
At The Craze with my Friend Dennis! |
So today was church, and I, along with another guy, had to teach the lesson in Sunday School. It was terrifying, but I think it went really well! I got a lot of participation from the class, which if you've ever been a teacher, you know that's the best! There was a sad part to church today though, and that was that our wonderful bishop, Bishop Bair, got released, along with his counselors. I've only known him for a semester, but he's been bishop of the 63rd ward here for six and a half years! He is one of the sweetest, most Christ-like men I've ever met and I wish he didn't have to go, but I'm sure the new bishop will be just as great.
Well that about wraps things up for my first week back in Rexburg. I love it here so much and I couldn't think of a better place to be! Thanks to everyone who has made sacrifices on my behalf to help me get here!
By the way, I miss you so much Mom, Dad, Lauren & Grandma! And of course all the animals.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blogs! Hope everyone has a great week!
XOXO,
Anna.
