BYUI Week 2: Fence Jumping and Crowd Surfing
BYUI is so great, I had so much fun this week! I started my classes on Monday and surprisingly, I think I will enjoy them! All my teachers seem really nice and helpful. Monday night we had Family Home Evening and our whole ward went to I-jump in Idaho Falls. On Tuesday we had an incredible devotional given by President Kim B Clark and his wife, Sue. The building where devotional takes place, the I-center, looks just like the conference center! I took a picture of it, which I later found out I wasn't supposed to take (oops) but why let it go to waste?
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I went to my first day of more of my classes. My anatomy lab seems like it is going to be a tough class, but hopefully I can do well in it. Did you know Wednesday was Constitution Day? I didn't, until I walked onto campus and saw this...
Thursday night my roommates and I, along with some of our neighbors, decided to go to the indoor rock climbing facility near our apartment. I came so close to making it to the top but I couldn't quite make it, but that's okay because now I have a goal to make it to the top and ring the bell! I have so much respect for rock climbers now, I never imagined it would be so physically demanding. I was so sore the next day!
On Friday, a friend from my old ward in Dunn came to tour the campus, so I had lunch with him and his Step-Mom. We had a great time catching up, and Jake, if you're reading this, go to BYUI!! So anyways, Friday night I went to a block party in Rexburg, which was pretty fun. After the block party, some friends and I decided to go to a bonfire, which was a little more adventurous than we had planned! First of all, we got stuck inside a fence at the stadium, so we had to climb the fence and jump over. Then once we met up with the friend that was driving there, we realized we had eight people and one 5-person car. So we squeezed. It was an interesting drive to the bonfire.
Saturday I did all my boring adult stuff like grocery shopping and laundry. Our apartment complex, The Ivy, hosted a "parking-lot" party Saturday night which was way more fun than I thought it would be. There were people crowd surfing and the people on stage kept spraying us with water! It was crazy and so much fun!!
So here we are on Sunday. Tomorrow my week will start all over again and I am so excited to see what it has in store for me! Oh, by the way, we have someone pretty special coming to speak at our devotional on Tuesday, but you'll have to wait until next Sunday to find out who that is! I hope you all are having a great week!
XOXO, Anna
